Private Nature and Public Good
Overview
Certain operations and programs at The Alvan Ikoku Foundation have as part of their purposes the aim to enhance public benefit in communities and societies. So it is important to make clear the relationship between the private nature of The Alvan Ikoku Foundation and any commitment the corporations and the Founder may make toward the public good.
Therefore, persons engaged in activity within, for, on behalf of, in reference to, and otherwise pertaining to The Alvan Ikoku Foundation are expected to uphold the following:
Private Nature
— that The Alvan Ikoku Foundation be private in status, including with respect to trusts, corporate and organizational form and formation, administration, management, and operation as well as interests, share and stock distribution.
General Public Benefit
— that The Alvan Ikoku Foundation have and maintain a commitment to enhance general public benefit, and foster that commitment primarily in tandem with The Alvan Ikoku Foundation.
Specific Public Benefit
— that The Alvan Ikoku Foundation have the right to limit and specify its commitment to specific public benefit purposes.
— that the sole entity and person with powers to amend, limit, specify and select the above public benefit purposes be The Board of Trustees of The Alvan Ikoku Foundation and Alvan Azinna Chibuzo Ikoku, the Founder and President, by express written instrument signed and sealed.
Review and Reporting
— that The Alvan Ikoku Foundation ensure accurate and periodic review of public benefit impact via appropriate methods.
— that The Alvan Ikoku Foundation obtain, keep current and comply with required public benefit accreditation or certification and reporting requirements of applicable law and regulation.
Sole Approval, Authorization and Right of Action
— that The Alvan Ikoku Foundation ensure that all decisions regarding public benefit, including its purposes, operations, review, and reporting require authorization and final approval by express written instrument signed and sealed of Alvan Azinna Chibuzo Ikoku, the Founder and President.
— that The Alvan Ikoku Foundation ensure that the sole person or entity with right of action pertaining to any of the aforementioned is Alvan Azinna Chibuzo Ikoku, the Founder and President.
Accordance with Ethics
— that The Alvan Ikoku Foundation ensure following any and all of the above principles further remains in accordance with the Codes and Policies and especially the Founding and Governing Code of Ethics.
Accordance with Mission
— that The Alvan Ikoku Foundation ensure following any and all of the above principles further remains in accordance with the founding mission and purposes of The Alvan Ikoku Foundation, without incompatibility, as described and delineated in the Codes and Policies and the Founder’s Declaration of Trust.

As stated earlier, The Alvan Ikoku Foundation User Agreement and Code of Conduct consist of several Codes and Policies that collectively govern all of your activity with, within, for, in reference to and otherwise pertaining to The Alvan Ikoku Foundation. By continuing, you indicate that you understand that these Codes and Policies include — but are not limited to — the Founding and Mission Statement, the Founding and Governing Code of Ethics, the Policy on Corporate Integrity, the Policy on Independence and Freedoms, the Policy on Privacy and Confidentiality, the Terms and Conditions of Use and Service, and the Acceptable Uses Policy along with all Associated Codes and Policies. Your Duty to Corporate Integrity
And you further legally accept and agree that no application, interpretation, judgment, or other compliance, proceeding, or reading from, of, with, or otherwise relating to the Founding Ethics, the Codes and Policies, or any equivalent code, policy, or other document or material shall, in any way, entail any abrogation, diminishment, interference, or violation pertaining to any of the terms, conditions, principles, requirements, rights — including the attendant properties and protections — of corporate and organizational integrity.

That draws inspiration from peoples who, despite a history of systemic difficulties, maintain an unyielding belief that the betterment of their human condition will foster the betterment of those living around them and will enhance the present and futures of the regularly disenfranchised, marginalized and underserved.
